The Chateau de Vendeuvre plays host to a tulip festival (Festival de la Tulipe) 1-30 April 2020 which should be a great celebration of Spring – especially after such a long winter.
This elegant 18th Century chateau, which also houses a collection of miniature furniture and has some famous gardens is open to the public each afternoon 2pm – 6pm – and will be showing at least 30,000 spring bulbs: tulips, daffodils, narcissi, crocuses etc.
It promises to be a riot of colour and you’ll be able to admire some rare specimens too.
Admire a flowery carpet of crocus in the water surprise gardens. Hasty tulips, daffodils, grape hyacinths, and narcissus compose this border.
Thousands of tulips of various colors welcome you to the shell grotto. At the foot of wild cherries in flowers, see irregularly cut tulips with never two exactly similar flowers.
Vendeuvre is situated south of Caen (14 Calvados, Normandie) near Falaise. The Chateau is also open for visits to the house, gardens and museum May – September.
