Le Mont Saint Michel was the start point (Grand Départ) for the 2016 Tour de France cycle race on 2 July 2016, , the first day’s route ending at Utah Beach, and the following day ending in nearby Cherbourg (50 Manche, Normandie) on 3 July 2016.
