With the reorganisation of the French regions on 1 January 2016, the regions were given self-explanantory names, reflecting the merging of 2 or more original regions. So when Nord-Pas-de-Calais and Picardie regions were merged the new region was Nord-Pas-de-Calais-Picardie. This is now to be known as Hauts-de-France (HdF)!
