May is a relatively quiet month on the roads in France – just the days around the public holidays when roads out of Paris and some other major cities will be busy before the holiday and then again after the holiday when roads back into the city will be busy.
Public Holidays in May 2019:
- 8 May WWII Victory Day (Fête de la Victoire 1945)
- 30 May 2019 – Ascension Day (Ascension catholique)
- 4 May Orange
- 5 May Orange
- 29 May Red
- 30 May Red
Orange = difficile (difficult)
Red = très difficile (very difficult)
