The town of Castres (81 Tarn, Occitanie) celebrates the end of Lent with a Carnaval with a difference – a Venetian Carnaval! (Carnaval Venetian) 7 – 8 March 2020
Part of the Carnaval is on the water (the river Agout) Festa sull’acqua – a parade with a floating procession of acrobats, fire-eaters and dancers!
The medieval houses overhanging the river gave this part of the town the nickname of “little Venice”
