The curse of the speed camera (les radars) continues to grow throughout France, with the Government's target of 1000 installations (700 fixed, 300 mobile) being completed by the end of 2005. A further 500 are planned for 2006!
You can find info on the location of French speed cameras at www.radarsfixes.com/ - so it may be worth checking out the site for any cameras on your route before you set out - for example there is a speed camera (90kph) on the D515 road from the ferry port at Ouistreham south towards Caen and the A13 autoroute and 2 on the Caen peripherique itself.
Do be aware that speed camera detectors are illegal in France and could result in your vehicle being confiscated if you are found using one.
