Florac (48 Lozère, Languedoc) 28 -30 October 2005 the town of Florac in the Cevennes hosts its annual Soup Festival, which sounds just perfect as the nights draw in and the temperature drops - see http://www.mescevennes.com/. The town is also on the route taken by Robert Louis Stevenson for his book "Travels with a donkey in the Cevennes" published in 1879. There is even a society in the region named after him and an official Long Distance Footpath!
